Do you pump up the 5.7 or simply go with the 392?

I am leaning towards the Scat Pack.

We use our current RT 2010 as a Daily Driver, and am seriously looking at the upgrade to 2015

IMO Dodge just made their own Scat Pack program basically obsolete by offering the 392 in the R/T. 392 all day, it's a proven performer, it's a 5.7 with basically every mod you can do to it.

The Scap Pack upgrade for the 5.7 has been discussed manuy times here. It is an epic fail at over $9k for 58hp, total. The 392 Scat Pack is the only way to go, if you're serious about hp.

Or..... you could spend about $3k on cam and tune and some other small upgrades for about 90+hp; and keep your 2010. Check out various vendors here for their packages.

Think the scat pack, while an interesting concept in 2014 will be obsolete in 2015 with RT's with 392's, and the upcoming hellcat as well as a higher level option for srt8 owners. For 58 hp, it just isn't enough to justify the extra cost. It will be a nice piece to show off at a gathering, but not much different than the older 5.7's that have been modded by their owners to get a few of those extra ponies on their own, and put scat pack bees on before dodge took our idea and ran with it again.

At least dodge took a look at what challenger owners were adding to their cars and decided to provide similar upgrades from the factory to make it easier for newer owners to get the same look or performance without going thru the same steps we went thru to improve ours.

With the SRT realignment of late, these advertised Scat Pack Stages may just stay vaporware.

A lot has happened since these were announced to the press.

Another................."stay tuned" LOL

I thought the scat packs were already available. goes to show how interested I was...lol. Mine has the intake, the functional hood, updated exhaust, an upgraded interior, upgraded spoiler with camera and is diablo tuned, and mine has scat pack bees as well, so figure I've got most of those missing ponies already. 2015 may very well turn out to be a banner year for dodge with the options available.

I was interested in the Scat Packs too but the $9,000+ "parts only" price really is a no go.

But there is hope, as I just recently found out that Stack Performance is offering Stage 1-4 packages for the Hemi engines. I will email them to find out more details, but the prices seem a little more down to earth. The Stage 3 seems like what the Scat Pack 3 is minus $3,500.:bigthumb:

And yet another person that "get's it", that overall, customers will not pay for overpriced packages that offer less. whether it be these scat pack's or the new factory shaker, they want too much for what they give. There is so much more bang for the buck in the aftermarket. MOPAR, you listening? Yet, there are those that will step up and pay those over the top prices just to be able to say it's factory or it comes with a warranty (or mostly because they can finance the costs into the car note).
I believe these scat packs will end up not being actual parts and will eventually fade from memory, much as the redline charger from a few years ago. Still waiting on the optional MOPAR Performance 426.......(which also would probably had been overpriced, lol). Or just maybe, they have the same parts suppliers for the scat packs that they have for the TA hood airbox...........Stay Tuned

Just curious guys, first off i'm a newb to the challenger community.

I was never really drawn to the challenger until I saw the video of Richard Rawlings of GasMonkey showing the '15 392 and its electronic adjustable exhaust.

When I saw him press a button on the remote and the exhaust sounded like a beast I was sold!

My question is, I really want to try and get the 392 because of all the awesome features, the hood and the exhaust trick. But if I it happens that the 392 is out of my budget, is there an affordable aftermarket package or device I could at to the '15 RT or even '14 RT to get the remote controlled exhaust trick as well as a nice shaker hood?

You can install remote controlled electric cutoff's for the exhaust which will do basically the same thing. Not cheap, but not as much as a full catback either.

I doubt Mopar will offer dumps as an option since they are considered "unlawful" as they are here in NC. That being said, you can get cut out kits with remote function for about $700 plus install. $500 for the cutouts, and $200 for the remote electronics with fobs. I've seen the removal of the fobs and had the garage door switches programmed to operate the cutouts...pretty cool. I'm trying to get over the "unlawful" thing before I make the move.

Have you done any research on the cut outs? I looked into these a couple years ago and it seemed like they get horrible reviews for leaking and bad seals after a few years. I've also read where you actually lose hp when they are open. Does anyone have first hand experience with these or know which one Mopar will be using? I'd love to have a quality working set.

The 2015 Scat Pack 392 R/T with the shaker is really making me think..... I Love that car.

It's the "Sweet spot" for sure.

I wish I could get an idea just how much the 392 in an R/T is going to be. If it's sanely priced, it will probably be the way I will go in 2016, but if it's ridiculous, as I kind of expect it to be, it will probably be another R/T.

What is an SRT Scat Pack 3? Arn't the Scat Pack 1,2 &3's just for RT's and that they never actually have materialized? I was under the impression the '15 RT with the 392 option was a totally different "Scat Pack" option, w/ & w/o a shaker. Is that what you are referring to? :icon_confused:
