Anyone read/heard/know of any good ways of reducing some of the excessive weight on our R/T 6 speed Challys?

Of course, keeping all factors reasonable. Just curious of any ways to reduce weight. All information is highly appreciated.

Thanks-

1. Unsprung weight is your enemy. Lighter wheels, smaller brakes. Remove rear seat/seat belts. Carbon fiber hood and trunk lid.

Then.

2. Lexan windows. Remove windshield wipers/windshield cleaner bottle /any associated pumps. Remove front seats for race buckets.

Depending on how low you want to go:

3. Remove dash and replace with Aluminum, with gauges. No passegner seat.

4. All aluminum short block/heads.

Thats the short list.. You could always swiss cheese the frame for a weight savings/true retro feel...

I coudlnt find what you're referring to, could you help me out please?

Thanks in advance:bigthumb:

Also, Should I just buy the 17" M&H & drag radials for the rear tires? Anyone know of anything that work better? Wheres the cheapest place to buy these? What your favorite drag radials? Thanks again.

Engine block no, heads yes. Valve covers & intake are "plastic" on the R/T.

Resonators are good for about 50 lbs and sounds great without them. Siebon carbon fiber hood & Trunk will help a bit, maybe 40 lbs and the fit and finish is great. Especially if your car is black.
