i'll trade you the scratch for the dent that some fat ass put in my SRT hood. I only had it a month and some jack ass either sat on it or pushed down on it.
Took me half a day with suction cup and glue pullers to get it back to acceptable. It's "almost" not noticeable, but I know it's there.

DCC works great on chips....For that scratch, I would use Mopar touch-up paint. Use a toothpick, build up layers until it's above the surrounding paint, then use a polishing compound to level it.
Menzerna works great.

Damn dude I'd be beating somebody if I ever found out who did that to my car. Glad you got it back to an acceptable level at least.

I had contemplated on the touch-up paint as I have heard DCC doesn't always cut it on scratches. For now I've managed to hide it enough to where you can't see if from a distance but just as you know where your dent is I know where the scratch is at.

I'll probably look at getting that soon. This is however the one time I wish I didn't have the tri-coat paint job.

Yeah, Phantom looks great, but its a ***** to touch up.

I have filled in several scratches that way You would never know they were there.

That looks like it is a key scratch, nothing you can do to avoid that except to keep your car in the garage all the time. Some people (many actually) are violently jealous of other people's property.

So I go out and look at my car today and I've already got a deep scratch in the paint that appears to go through the clearcoat. This really pisses me off.

What are my options for getting this repaired?
To determine a course of action on a particular scratch first the depth and type of scratch needs to be determined.

If you can catch a fingernail in it then it is bast the clear coat and into the base or primer even.

Options are to have it polished by a true professional. While that wont FULLY remove it, it can greatly reduce the unsightly appearance and make it near unnoticable to anyone but YOU (owner).

1A hire reputable detailer to touch it up professionally.

Second option: respray the panel to fix. However with ALL REPAINTS you run the risk of not matching the OEM paint and its $$$$$$

DR Color Chip Could be an option, depending on the size and location.

Think I am going to wet sand it and apply some Dr. Colorchip to it when I get more time and it's a little cooler outside.

Any suggestions on sandpaper grit?

PLEASE at all costs, do not attempt to wet sand if you have little to no experience. As stated above, it removes paint quickly and jeopardizes the integrity of the clear coat if too much is inadventantly removed. I know the temptation to fix an unsightly scratch may be great, but hopefully the temptation to preserve your baby for the long term is greater.

I know youtube makes EVERYTHING look simple and no big deal, but they dont show the follow up results of ppl going to town on OEM paint...

Its really bad news if done improperly, because clear coat failure is only fixed by a repaint. :(

Make sure you use a backing block. Try 2000 grit finish with 3000. It'll take a while, but will save you any heartache.
Get yourself a good polishing compound like Menzerna. You should be able to polish it out by hand, but a Porter Cable dual action and some good pads would be better.

Sorry dude. I am 3 months into mine and have three defective Pirelli P Zero Nero tires with sidewall damage that i am trying to get dodge to resolve. I should have looked at the tire before I drove it off the lot. Not holding my breath.

There should be a warranty on those tires.

I got the tire and wheel warranty, but usually tires are covered for the first year.
Check your paperwork.
I hit a pothole and put a bubble in an Eagle F1 on my 2007 Vette and Goodyear replaced it free.
See if there was an enclosed Pirelli warranty, or go to a Pirelli dealer. Sometimes dealers have their heads so far up their asses
they don't know if it's day or night.

Sorry for hijacking the OP's thread.

All I ended up doing at this point is using a few coats of Maguiars scratch x and polish. It's pretty much invisible to everyone but me. Don't think I'll be doing anything else to it at least for a while.

Great choice! I think that's, by far, the best course of action for long term preservation of the paint.

I have not gone the Dr. Colorchip route just yet. I was waiting to see how effective Scratch X was before I did.

I applied approximately 4 coats of Scratch X and 1 coat of Meguair's Black Wax to the car. While it did cover the scratch up to a decent extent you can still clearly see it.

One week for me after taking delivery. Mine went to the primer! First of many I guess. Going to slowly build it up.
